The Winning Edge, Dehradun, founded in 2019, by Col Amardeep Singh, SM (Retired) is a premier coaching institute dedicated to preparing students for Sainik School, RIMC, and other Defence entrance exams. With a strong focus on quality education, structured training, and disciplined learning, the institute offers both offline and online courses to cater to diverse student needs. Located at Doon Imperial Residential School, it provides a conducive environment for academic excellence and personality development. The Winning Edge blends experienced mentorship, result-oriented strategies, and modern teaching methods to help students achieve their dream of joining prestigious Defence institutions. The institute has a very high success rate for RIMC, Sainik School, NDA and SSB Interview.
Modes
Offline Courses
WEDA has been successfully running offline courses at Doon Imperial Residential School (DIRS), Dehradun since 2023. We are expanding soon with offline batches at Charkhi Dadri, Haryana. Our offline institutes provide schooling and hostel facilities for boys only, ensuring a focused and disciplined learning environment.
Online Courses
Since April 2020, WEDA has been conducting online coaching for Sainik School, Rashtriya Military School (RMS), and RIMC. Our students come from across India, and we have a diverse faculty, including experts from India and other countries. The curriculum is tailored to suit different learning styles, making the program low-stress yet high-impact.

The Winning Edge Defence Academy
Prepare your child for the Sainik School entrance exam with a structured and comprehensive two-year offline foundation course in Dehradun. The new batch begins on 01 April 2025.
In this program, students complete their Class 6 and 7 curriculum at George Public School, Dehradun, while simultaneously preparing for the Sainik School entrance exam at George Educational Institute. The coaching modules are expertly designed and delivered by a team of highly experienced retired Armed Forces officers and skilled faculty members.
The foundation course focuses on academic excellence, Sainik School exam preparation, physical fitness training, personality development, and overall discipline, ensuring a holistic learning experience. Hostel facilities are available for boys only.

Know Your Eligibility
Age Limit:
For Class 6: The candidate must be between 10 and 12 years old as of 31st March of the year of admission.
For Class 9: The candidate must be between 13 and 15 years old as of 31st March of the year of admission.
Educational Qualification:
For Class 6: The candidate should be studying in Class 5 or have passed Class 5 at the time of admission.
For Class 9: The candidate should be studying in Class 8 or have passed Class 8 at the time of admission.
Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
Medical Fitness: The candidate must meet the medical standards set by the Sainik School authorities. A medical examination will be conducted as part of the admission process.
Gender: Sainik Schools generally admit boys, but some schools may offer limited admissions to girls, especially in higher classes. It varies from school to school.
These criteria may vary slightly depending on the specific Sainik School, so it is advisable to check the guidelines of the respective school for any updates or additional requirements.
